Bang's back!
Here I am writing this post sitting in the comforts of my home in Bangalore, India. There is really no place like home.
Although its been just 3 months that I've been away from Bangalore, it has changed a lot and it still is undergoing rapid change. With the huge influx of people coming in for jobs with many well established companies and industries, Bangalore which was known as a 'pensioners paradise' has now become a 'commuters nightmare'.
Bangalore definitely needs the Metro Rail as soon as possible. The Metro project in my opinion is very interesting in the context of Bangalore. I see it as a great opportunity to influence the behaviour and attitude of daily commuting. This is exactly where I feel a Service Design studio can play its part - in suggesting design specifications that allow behavioural change and also looks at economic opportunities within the service.
This reminds me of a Service Design Studio proposal I has written while applying for an entrepreneurship course in IIMB held in partnership with the British Council. (Will upload the presentation soon)
